@randahl
Great initiative. Still needs to update some information, though. I happened to check on the Twitter / X account of @marketkag.bsky.social today, because she gave a speech in the EP calling on policymakers to boycott the platform, and indeed her account there recently declared an X-it. The campaign site still lists her as active.
But with some crowd sourced attention we can keep it up to date I'm sure.

This is absolutely awesome!

@pneutig @randahl @marketkag.bsky.social
The data we have was scraped from the official EU website a few days ago. Her profile was there.
We are updating the list of those quitting, though. Thanks for the info. :)
Leave X - Protect Democracy (@leavex@mastodon.social)
Attached: 1 image Thanks to @zollak@bonn.social, we updated the status of ten MEPs! Now, we have 421 more politicians to persuade to leave X, which is a decrease from 60% to 59%. Can we get that number below 50% before spring? Contact the MEPs using our tool https://leavex.eu/politicians/ We should keep track of how many politicians left X by either stating it or deleting their accounts. P. S. here is the code with these latest changes https://github.com/everton137/leavex-tools/commit/d49dd70bd97349adc813ddae0f5982bdddcb97bf #LeaveX #Democracy #EU

@FrankHghTwr @randahl we need to improve the wording.
At the moment, 'Inactive on X' are those who declared to quit X by posting about it.
-
@randahl Can't he charged with election tampering he tries to buy elections
-
@randahl In the 1990's I would have never guessed we'd be concerned...about the concern...of a website.

@leavex @reithose maybe make an prewritten email with those 5 points to "convince" them to leave :
1. Disinformation and algorithmic manipulation
2. One‑sided bans and loss of a reliable channel
3. Journalists’ willingness to follow the politics wherever it goes (Truth social example)
4. Why the EU‑hosted Mastodon instance is a better fit
5. Why staying on X could jeopardize your political standing (here show your website) to say their name is public and it can hurt them. -

@leavex @reithose i already send an email with those 5 point (with some personal text between those point) to my country's representative :)
you can also use the :
Server : ec.social-network.europa.eu
An Politician from EU already there : https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/@HennaVirkkunenif they see an European Comission member is already here and active, it may help them to open an account here.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell In the US the younger ones can’t be bothered to deal with life without the ease of shopping with their fingertips and the older ones refuse to give up Facebook ‘cause they claim it’s the only way to stay abreast of their friends. It’s all BS. I remember when we did it with email, or even LETTERS! @randahl @leavex

@Gardenermerc @randahl @leavex
Yeah, we used to do it with bulletin boards. They’re all sorts of ways of keeping in touch that the major platforms have monopolized.
We need to rediscover the joy in the smol.
The chief factor working in favor of that is platform enshittification.
