@gdinwiddie @VeroniqueB99 specifically these are SA troopers, which was a paramilitary organisation that was important for the Nazis rise to power but in its role within the Nazi power structure later superseded by the SS.
Note that they also raided without warrants from judges. In this picture they rounded up socialists and communists.
