OTOH you’re right, a mere handful of dollars wouldn’t convince the people you described with such a colorful metaphor to get their butt to the voting booth…
Watching from this side of the pond and if there’s no epic landslide in November, a LOT will give up on you.

And I have to vote for Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and was a Bernie voter 2016 and 2020 but ended up feeling Biden was better than I ever thought possible. And ended up loving him in a 100% serious way. Jayapal is my current fave progressive.
