GrapheneOS has high compatability with Android apps because if offers a Google Mobile Services Compatability Layer which allows you to run Google Play (Play Store + Play Services) but as regular sandboxed apps, so without any exceptional priviliges. It "teaches" Google Play how to run in this way and allows you to maintain compatability with a lot of Android apps depending on Play functionality. There is a small subset of apps not working, though, due to developers making misguided decisions by implementing software libraries which were marketed to them as security-increasing while they are actually orthogonal to or determintal to security. Banking apps are category of apps for which this occurs more often than non-banking apps, but most banking apps will still work. Which banking apps do you intend to use?
