@randahl is this being deliberately escalated so to intimidate people and suppress voting, clearly anyone who doesn't look purely European will be afraid to come out.
-
A BBC fact check shows, ICE agents fired 10 shots into the back of nurse Alex Pretti while he was disarmed, face down, and pepper sprayed in the eyes.
-
@oatmeal that is one angle. Another angle could be that fear and intimidation could make people move away from the country, and those most inclined to avoid the US are the left leaners.

@randahl I see.
[...] Although the administration has undertaken aggressive removal efforts, the negative number is mostly due to a significant drop in entries into the U.S., the report said.
I know many USians living in Europe with no plans to return - some have even renounced citizenship for tax reasons. Every time I hear about friends or family planning a trip to the US, I'm shocked. Why support their economy? Why take the risk?
In our family group chat, I've been asked not to post any #Trump / #MAGA-related comments or memes because some relatives have been routinely scrutinized upon re-entry, some are waiting their Green cards... possibly about the time to seriously forget about that and go back home.
The #US has added a level of authoritarian procedure in monitoring citizens' political speech to determine border treatment that even 1930s #Germany didn't have. Kudos. Soon #Russia, #China, and the US will be indistinguishable from each other.

@randahl this is not a “new normal”; unless we do something to change course, it will never be this good again.
(What I’ve been saying about climate change for years, now also applies to the political climate)
-
@randahl we have an executive who seems to be able to shut down and send home entire executive departments with impunity, summarily shut down funded and lawful programs written into law, but the best congress can offer is to threaten FUTURE funding of DHS/ICE? The minority party needs to STOP insisting on playing only by the rules. The correlary to fighting fire with fire is fighting shit with shit. It hurts, but is it not warranted?
-
@randahl Let us also look at our own situation in Europe. How are far-right groups reacting in Denmark and elsewhere? In France, they welcome the ICE's methods, with some even saying that raids should be carried out to capture anyone who is not ‘in order’.
-
@randahl
And he will. By instigating uprest and then f**k them over by force. Trump said in 2024: If you vote for me now, you wont need to vote again. Watch out. You have a second Putin. -
@randahl He’s not trying to win on approval anymore. It’s clear he’s aiming to steal an election. Look out, Americans.
-
He will try it…
But all of a sudden I have to think of the storming of the Bastille and the storming of the Capitol…
This regime will not last.
-
@randahl is it true, that this is the new uniform of the ICE?
-
@randahl
Bovino is a descendant of a Mussolini supporter, or am I mistaken? -
@randahl Looks a bit like the waffen SS coat. Just saying.

-
@randahl @briankrebs I see he’s wearing his favourite “My L’il Brownshirt” outfit again
-
Why is he cosplaying a Nazi? Oh, he IS a Nazi.

@sleeve98 yes. It will be interesting to see what happens once the panic sets in. As Steve Bannon said: “If we lose, some of us are going to jail — myself included”.
-
@randahl *Untergruppenführer *Bonino looks to be on the outs now that Homan is going to Minnesota, presumably to collect envelopes of cash since the heavies have adequately shown the locals why they need to pay their protection money.
-
@randahl They don't deserve jail. They need the rope. Not out of vengeful bloodlust, for pragmatic reasons—hear me out if you will.
The reason the US has to deal with this now is they let the Confederacy off with a slap on the wrist. Same thing with post-WW2 Germany, they made a few examples and let the rest of them go, because USians, authoritarian to the bone as always, thought they needed the apparatus to maintain control of the plebs. End result, fash degenerates who should have been kicked off the fucking planet for crimes against humanity got to remain in public offices in all branches of government, and to live long enough to shit into the brains of their children and grandchildren wholesale. In the case of Germany, only three generations later you won't be kicked in the teeth anymore for uttering insane Nazi bullshit. I.e., the very same crap is about to creep back out of the holes it was allowed to fester in.
Intend to end fascism? Gotta end all fascists, at least on a scale that makes all the rest crawl back into the closet for fear of being next, and never ever come out again. Blow a hole into their Nazi egos the size of our galaxy. Because apparently they don't learn from history, they need to experience for themselves. No empathy for these delusional revisionist psychopaths.
Plus I don't see how anyone could still reign in the Sturmabteilung apart from de-ICEing the streets with sheer force. As you claim rightly imho, the head honchos are desperate and will spare no expense, if you catch my drift. Somehow my inner ear is channeling a spontaneous Psy cover, "whack'em gangland style". Bovino and Noem, and the rest of the Trump Cult Junta, are just boss level stuff to go last, to hang upside down in front of some random garage. Do the Mussolini!
