@wsslmn when i switched from cable to 4-5G i had to rearrange my router, so I switched it all off 'for the moment'. (No home assistant here)
Now .... Many years later they are still offline.. 😅😅 and the house is running like clockwork!

Dutch university to start handing out only Fairphones to employees, instead of buying iPhones or Samsung.

@TrVr @BuyFromEU @murena tap to pay won't work with e/OS. Biggest dealbreaker for me to be honest.
Is @murena working with EU to make #wero wallet the default maybe? -
@mfr @BuyFromEU @murena Marco maybe this has to do with the advanced Privacy settings. I need to put it off for the banking apps to work. The great thing about e/OS is you can set this on an app base. So yes the bank will know your IP location and maybe their trackers as well. But other apps get nothing.
-
@BuyFromEU Good move.
-
@mfr @TrVr @BuyFromEU @murena that looks a very, very minor inconvenience. Yes tap to pay doesn't work unless you use Curve, which is owned by a zionist. I just bring the credit card with me 🤷♂️
-
@danielezomg @TrVr @BuyFromEU @murena for privacy tap to pay is better (yes w/big tech at the moment, but it’s still better than paying with card for that, wero would be ideal eventually). Regardless I won’t switch until my current phone dies, but fairphone is high on my list. I really like that companies (well at least one, more might follow) are having sustainable company phones on their agenda. Otoh the EU is pushing regulation that also forces the big brands to move in the right direction.

@vosje62 it just works. That's why I'm not a fan of elaborate automations involving stuff that could be controlled with a classic light switch. It is fun to do, but that is about it for me.
-
@wsslmn @vosje62 @BuyFromEU That‘s nice, and under better circumstances, it would work also for me. But currently, we don’t know anymore where to stay for our pension age, and we travel between two countries, with an accomodation in each of them, also for family reasons. So we need a certain level of remote control also.
-
@wsslmn @vosje62 @BuyFromEU My idea would be to develop all necessary apps also for EU-made phones with EU-made OS.
-
@alloalli @vosje62 @wsslmn @BuyFromEU That‘s not correct: also Android Open Source was developed and is thus owned by Google, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)
So, legally, Google could still interfere remotely, I suppose. And Google comes under U.S. law, and you know what that means with the creepy orange in the White House. -
@Fietsbel @vosje62 @wsslmn @BuyFromEU okay, as long as AOSP stays open source it'll be good
-
@alloalli @vosje62 @wsslmn @BuyFromEU Not exaxtly, because Google could prevent others from using the Open Source code in any way that it considers against its own, or against U.S. interests (under U.S. law). Individuals and companies could potentially face expensive lawsuits under U.S. law, couldn‘t they?
-
@alloalli @vosje62 @wsslmn @BuyFromEU Don’t get me wrong: I‘m not against Open Source, just against the digital monopolies by US companies.
-
@BuyFromEU leading the way! Glad to see it
-
@BuyFromEU Well done for them!

@BuyFromEU Ik heb mij afgelopen december een Fairphone 6 aangeschaft. Ik houd voorlopig Android aan ivm met bank app.
