What's stopping people from buying EVs? BCG reveals 4 myths💡 They surveyed 9,000 car buyers across 10 countries. Many in the West still categorically reject EVs: - US: 28% say "never EV" - Europe: 24% - Compared to China: Only 6% They looked at why and found 4 common myths: 1) "Charging takes forever" Reality: BMW charges 10-80% in 21 minutes. Modern EVs add 400km range in 5 minutes. 2) "Range isn't enough" Reality: New EVs achieve 500+ km. Average daily driving in Europe: 30 km. 3) "Too expensive" Reality: BYD Dolphin Surf starts at €19,990 in Germany. 4) "Too few charging points" Reality: Public charging infrastructure nearly doubled in 2 years. The market moved. The myths didn't. Most objections come from early EV experiences 5-10 years ago. Back then, the concerns were real. Charging was slow. Range was limited. Prices were high. Infrastructure was sparse. But the technology improved dramatically and perception didn't keep pace. BCG found one more pattern: Generational resistance. Buyers over 60: 39% reject EVs completely. Buyers under 30: Only 10% refuse. And this shows up in the regional data too. Average new car buyer age in China: mid-30s. In Europe and the US: early 50s. The generation holding these outdated objections is aging out. Newer generations evaluate EVs based on current reality, not past limitations. What do you think? Will the generational shift resolve these myths naturally? Or do automakers need to actively change perceptions? 👉 Get the complete analysis in today's newsletter (Link in comments) #automotive #EV #transformation
