I support it but misinfo and hate are an inherent part of the internet. Of the ability for anyone to have a website.

The problem with corporate platforms (and mass media) is their ability to control attention. To decide lots of people should see the misinfo. Ultimately it means money can be turned into influence via ads, algos and owners deciding what gets aired.

Decentralized social media lets us decide together what gets attention. Trust the people. #DemocracyOfReach

I'm glad politicians are leaving X, but I wish Mastodon was safer for minorities.

Unfortunately it will remain very "monochrome" until the abuse side is looked at more.

Are you prepared for many X'ers to come to here? That includes those that challenge narratives that are popular on this platform. I've been looking around a bit, it is a bit of a left wing echo chamber here.

@randahl @leavex is it not way better to keep your account on X open, with pinned tweets linking to Mastodon and BlueSky etc?

That way, your account can help to direct people off X and serve as an advert/signpost towards better social media.
