We are currently working on a complete rewrite of the chat ui. This will allow us to implement reactions, rich replies, stickers etc.

@frank @spla yes, Monal we changed a lot. Since 2020 we gradually replaced every part of the app with completely new code. In Monal 5.0 a completely new group/channel implementation was introduced and in 6.0 audio and video calls were added.

Currently we are half part through rewriting the complete ui using Apple's new SwiftUI framework.
